Day 0 - When in Rome

Every count starts with a zero, so we're starting with zero as well. Our trip started by meeting in front of the National Institute of Chemistry, where most of the work was done. The place where our summer flew by, without beer. Well, almost without beer. Everyone got their "last-from-slovenia-thing" and after a while we packed up our bags to a airport shuttle and started towards the airport. HAPPY TIMES BEGIN!

Ok, so engines started, a few hours of drive ahead of us, we all looked forward to flying and finally getting closer
to US and MIT. We were all excited and pumped and things finally moved out of the wet lab and onto the road.

We arrived at the airport on time, despite Tina I. worrying all the time, and we boarded the plane at around 19:25. A few minutes later, we were airborne, flying towards our first stop, Rome.

Tina I. a bit less worried

After arriving to Rome, we were lost completely. Luckily, we had an Italian team member (which we count as Slovenian btw!) so we were saved. He soon bonded with the entire airport and all the workers, including cab drivers were excited to have some one who can understand them. After some small talk Mattia managed to get us a shuttle for the hotel. And to make everything more interesting for the first day away from home, the one shuttle we used, had 8 seats. We were 14. (benvenuti e Roma)

After arriving to the hotel, Mattia again saved us with getting us rooms and WiFi! We took a quick glance at the rooms, but before getting comfortable we decided it's best to find something to eat and have a nice dinner.Hotel manager told us that a restaurant called Black Sheep is around the corner and that we should go there for some pasta. And what a pasta it was!
a dinner of soon to be champions

Again Mattia used his Italian-stallion  skills and got us a king dinner with 3 opening dishes, wine, beer and an awesome pasta. We ate like bosses and even though we thought half of our summer savings will go for that dinner, we were surprised by the amount on the bill. We paid it before the waiter changed his mind about the price and headed back to the hotel. Once there, bed was the best place to be, as we had to get up early in the morning for the flight to Boston. FFFUUUUUUUUUN TIMES! Boston that is, not getting up early.

Day 1 is next - flight to boston + practice run
